Our counseling team offers biblical counseling to the members of Grace Community Church. Counseling is based upon and informed by God’s inspired Word, the Bible. Second Timothy 3:16, 17 tells us, “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.” Second Peter 1:3 tells us, “…His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness.” We believe Scripture is sufficient to address any and all difficulties one can encounter.
If you would like to request counseling:
- Please read FACTS ABOUT BIBLICAL COUNSELING and note any questions you might like to ask at the beginning of your first session. Please read this before going to the next step.
- Carefully read and sign the CONSENT TO COUNSEL form and bring it to your first session.
- Complete the Personal Data Inventory (PDI) form and email as an attachment to counseling(at)gracemaryville.org. This email goes directly to Craig Hanson and Chris Riser. Once received, a counselor will be assigned to follow up with you. If there is a particular counselor you would prefer to meet with you, please let us know and we will try and accommodate your request. Scheduling and other demands may require us to schedule another counselor.
Once you have completed and sent the Personal Data Inventory we will send you a small booklet called Christ and Your Problems in the mail.
- While you wait to be placed with a counselor, read Christ and Your Problems and complete the homework that will be sent with it.
If you have difficulty or questions regarding any of these steps, please contact Craig Hanson at counseling(at)gracemaryville.org and he will be glad to assist.
If you are in immediate need of care please call Grace Community Church (865) 984-0116 and ask to speak to an elder.
If this is a health emergency or you are thinking of harming yourself, please call 911.
Our Biblical Counselors are certified, or in the process of earning certification, with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors.
